Donald P. Jeffrey, 90 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 1:27 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 in the Adams Memorial Hospital Emergency Room. Donald was born on Sunday, August 13, 1922 in East Grand Forks, Minnesota the son of the late John Isaac Jeffrey and the late Alice Elive (Gauthier) Jeffrey. He married the late Olga Schueler on March 17, 1946 in Decatur, Indiana and she passed away on February 25, 2003. Donald was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church-Preble; American Legion Post #43 in Decatur; and a former member of the Decatur Optimist Club. Don served his country in the United States Army Air Force during World War II. Donald was a machinist at International Harvester in Ft. Wayne, IN for 10 1/2 years; worked at Central Soya in the Maintenance Dept. for 17 1/2 years; and retired from farming in 1968. Surviving are his daughter, Janine (Ron) Thieme of Decatur, IN; brother, Duane (Anna Mae) Jeffrey of East Grand Forks, MN; sister, Rosalie Peterson of East Grand Forks, MN; sister, Veronica Hussey of East Grand Forks, MN; sister, Betty Ann Hecht of Mentor, MN; sister, Jean Bagely of Henderson, NV; sister-in-law, Lorraine Jeffrey of East Grand Forks, MN; 6 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter. Preceding Donald in death were 2 sons, Gary L. Jeffrey; Danny Peter Kotta; 1 grandson, Daniel Jeffrey; 2 brothers, Vincent Jeffrey; Ardell Jeffrey; 3 sisters, Lavern Jeffrey, Linda Jeffrey, & Ethel Gregoire. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2013 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Daniel Brege officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 43 Color Guard. Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 7, 2013 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, IN. Preferred memorials are to American Legion Post #43 Color Guard.
