Judy A. Heller

Judy A. Heller passed away June 23, 2013 in her home. Born in Fort Wayne on October 5, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Dick and Elizabeth(Rider) Clay. A 1963 graduate of Monroeville High School, Judy retired from the State of Indiana Welfare Department in 2003 as a case worker. Prior to working for the state, she started and ran her own ceramic business called The Clay Corner. She started her thriving business in her home and eventually moved it to downtown Decatur. Judy enjoyed an active life, spending time with family and friends, researching the family genealogy, bird-watching, gardening, crocheting, reading, cooking, and traveling with her husband of 50 years. She is survived by her loving husband Gary Heller; daughters Laura (Perry) Elliott of Casa Grande, AZ; Jana (Todd) Nebel of Plano, IL; Beth (John) Rodenbeck of Monroeville, IN; six grandchildren; and one brother, Jeffrey Clay of Irving, TX. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jackie (Clay) Day. There will no services. Per Judy's request, a Celebration of Life will be scheduled for a later date. In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials are to Family LifeCare in Berne, IN; or donor's choice.
