Todd K. Hockemeyer, 51 years old of Hoagland, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne following an apparent heart attack at his residence. He was born on Monday, May 28, 1962 in Decatur, Indiana the son of the late Kenneth W. Hockemeyer, who passed away on October 1, 2003, and Marjorie (Bultemeier) Price. He married Carla Spieth on September 14, 1985 in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Haven, Indiana. Todd was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Soest in Fort Wayne; a very active member of the Hoagland Area Advancement Association (HAAA); and the Hoagland Chamber of Commerce. He was owner & operator of K & N Carpet in Fort Wayne since 1996 and had been affiliated with the store since 1978. The Hockemeyer family has been involved in the operation of K & N Carpet since the mid 1960's. Todd loved to have a good time! Enjoying his family and friends were among his passions in lifealong with golf, traveling, and fishing. In the winter, he would snowmobile and enjoy the outdoors. In addition to K&N, Todd also enjoyed farmingas one of his many hobbies in life. He was also very community minded and provided assistance when asked or needed.he was a handyman extraordinaire! At Emmanuel - Soest, he was active in the church and served in many of the church offices. He also sang in the church choir. Surviving are his wife, Carla Hockemeyer of Hoagland; daughter, Casey Hockemeyer of Hoagland; daughter, Jamie (Brad) Kirkman of Hoagland; daughter, Julie Hockemeyer of Hoagland; son, T.J. Hockemeyer of Hoagland; mother, Marjorie (Larry) Price of Hoagland; sister, Penny (Benjamin) Boyle of New Bremen, Ohio; sister, Pam (Kevin) Selking of Hoagland; sister, Peggy (David) Herb of Huntertown; brother, Dr. Troy (Jill) Hockemeyer of Fort Wayne; and brother, Tyrone Hockemeyer of Fort Wayne. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a. m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Soest with Pastor Kyle Krueger officiating. Interment will follow in the Concordia Cemetery Gardens in Fort Wayne. Friends will be received from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, July 1 and 1:00 to 4:00 & 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 2 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur. Preferred memorials are to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Soest; Hoagland Fire & EMS; HAAA; or Hoagland Sidewalk Fund (thru Hoagland Chamber of Commerce).
