Robert Norman Kreager, 92 years old of Florida, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2013 in the Sturgill Hospice located in Brooksville, Florida. Robert was born on Saturday, October 23, 1920 in Monroeville, Indiana the son of the late Andrew Wilson Kreager and the late Frances (O'Shaughnessey) Kreager. He married the late LaVonne Casselman on December 16, 1978 in Orlando, Florida and she passed away on June 19, 2007. Robert was a member of the St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville, Indiana; a former Lions Club member in Florida. He enjoyed stained glass art and oil painting. Robert was a 1938 graduate of Garfield Hith School; a graduate of Indiana Teachers State College; Northwestern (1943); Harvard (1943); Florida State (1957). He received a BS English/Speech (1943); and MS Spec Inst (1951). Robert had been Superintendent of Education Lee Co. (Ft. Myers, FL) 1960-1965; Education Instructor in Tell City, IN and Ft. Myers, FL; and Administrator of Music, English & Humanities at Clearwater Campus of St. Petersburg Junior College 1960-1983. Robert served his country in the United States Navy during World War II from 1942-1955 achieving the rank of Lieutenant. Surviving are two sons, R. Michael Kreager of Gervais, OR; Edward Kreager of Hernando Beach, FL; daughter, Deborah Cannon of Lakeland, FL; step-son, John (Lorraine) Hobbs of San Diego, CA; step-daughter, Sally (Roy) Minnick of Decatur, IN; step-daughter, Ann (Jim) Saalfrank of Hoagland, IN; 5 Grandchildren; 1 Great-Grandchild; 7 Step-Grandchildren; 13 Step-Great-Grandchildren; 1 Nephew. Graveside Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery in Monroeville, IN. Preferred memorials are to Masses to the church; or Monroeville EMS.
