Marjorie L. Meyer, 92 years old of Decatur, Indiana passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2013 in Adams Memorial Hospital. She was born on Sunday, November 7, 1920 in Fort Wayne, Indiana the daughter of the late Albert Scheumann and the late Helen (Mailand) Scheumann. She married Robert C. Meyer on August 4, 1948 in Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur and he passed away on November 16, 2006. Marjorie was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Bingen where she was involved in the Ladies Guild & the Altar Guild of the church. She and her husband, Bob, were very involved in the operation of the Lutheran Bible Institute for many years. She also directed plays for the Walther League in the 1950's and was involved in the Decatur Research Club. Marjorie was a retired school teacher; having taught in the South Whitley Grade School and Hillcrest Grade School. She also did substitute teaching in area schools. She & her husband owned and operated Meyer's Service Station on Highway 27 for over 60 years. Surviving are her daughter, Joy Meyer of Decatur; daughter, Patricia (Thomas) Seeman of Indianapolis; and two grandchildren, Paul Seeman and Trisha Seeman. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. (noon) Monday, July 29, 2013 in the St. John Lutheran Church, Bingen with Pastor Peter Brock officiating. Interment will follow in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Bingen. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to the time of the service on, Monday, July 29 in the St. John Lutheran Church, Bingen. Preferred memorials are to St. John Lutheran Church, Bingen; Worship for Shut-Ins; or the donor's choice.
