Wilma L. Hobbs, 63 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2013 in the Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home located in Fort Wayne. She was born on Wednesday, July 19, 1950 in Celina, Ohio the daughter of the late James B. Carter and the late Jessie (Myers) Carter. She married Gerald E. Hobbs on December 28, 1968 in Coldwater, Ohio and he passed away on May 8, 2011. Wilma was a member of Cornerstone Community Church in Decatur and was previously a member of Covenant Chapel in Bluffton, Indiana. She graduated from Ivy Tech in 1997 and worked as an LPN for Markle Medical Center, retiring in 2007. Surviving are her daughter, Alison S. (Devon) Bantz of Bluffton, Indiana; daughter, Angela N. (Anthony) Dickerson of Frankfort, Indiana; son, Timothy W. (Ellen) Hobbs of Bluffton, Indiana; daughter, Teresa J. (Don) Hess of Decatur, Indiana; sister, Lola (Lester) McDowell of Celina, Ohio; and sister, Virginia Wood of Fort Recovery, Ohio. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, Chelsea Coons; Ashlan Coons; Caitlyn Coons; Austin Coons; Andrea Dickerson; Aaron Dickerson; Arissa Dickerson; Abigayle Dickerson; Zachary Hess; Elizabeth Hess; Ray (Chas) Stout; & Steve (Courtney) Stout; and five great-grandchildren. Preceding Wilma in death were one brother, James O. Carter and two sisters, Lula Crouch & Juanita Lindley. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2013 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur with Pastor Ken Hogg officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, September 10 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur. Preferred memorials are to Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.
