Rosa Nicholoff, 94 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at her residence. Rosa was born on Monday, October 14, 1918 in Fort Wayne, Indiana the daughter of the late Christ Gurevsky and the late Vesta (Haggerty) Gurevsky. She married Thomas N. Nicholoff on September 27, 1936 in Fort Wayne, Indiana and he passed away on November 30, 1988. Rosa was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Monroeville. Rosa liked fishing, playing cards, embroidering, games and in later years the slots. Rosa loved to take one to three lady friends and travel to Toronto, Canada; Houston, TX; all over Florida; New York City; and North Carolina. Rosa had worked at Stillman Dry Goods store; 4 Aces Tavern; H & L Store in New Haven; and Village Cafe; finally retiring at age 82 in 2000. Surviving are her son, Nicholas (Jone) Nicholoff of Monroeville, Indiana; daughter, Patricia (Richard) Dager of Monroeville, Indiana; daughter, Beverly (James) Grotrian of Fort Wayne, Indiana; six grandchildren, Doug Plummer; Debi Golden; Nicole (Ziggy) Harcus; Troy Dager; Natalie (Jason) Bohde; & Tom (Renee) Nicholoff; two step-grandchildren, Jack (B.J.) Grotrian & Rona (Mark) O'Campo; seven great-grandchildren, and four step-great-grandchildren. Preceding Rosa in death were a brother, Leon Gurevsky and a great-grandson, Joshua Bohde. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 19, 2013 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2013 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville. Preferred memorials are to Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home, Monroeville Fire Deprtment or Monroeville EMS.
