Carolyn M. (Beauchot) Blauvelt, 88, of Monroeville, IN passed away Thursday, October 3, 2013 at her residence following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born December 3, 1924 in Monroeville, the daughter of the late Clarence and Catherine E. (Westrick) Beauchot. She married Harold R. "BB" Blauvelt on June 29, 1946. He passed away on December 14, 2012. Carolyn was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville and the Rosary Sodality. She was also a member and former president of the Allen County Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. She was a 1943 graduate of Central Catholic High School in Fort Wayne and was a homemaker. Grandma BB (as she was known to her grandchildren) was a devoted wife, "Muckle" to her husband, and loving mother to her children. She was an inspiration to her family in the way she handled her challenges in life. She is survived by 6 daughters and 5 sons: Mike (Kathy) of New Haven; Jack (Theresa), Thomas (Laura), Chris (Julie), Diane Schane, Beth (Neal) Rothgeb, Joan (Keith) Bultemeier, and Patricia (Dan) Foster all of Monroeville; and Edward, Barbara and Carol of Fort Wayne. Also surviving are 5 brothers: Clarence "Joe" (Josie) Beauchotof Decatur; Robert (Kathy); James (Rosie); Joseph (Susie); and Gene (Jane) of Monroeville; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Stevens of Scott, OH; twenty-nine grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; and one great, great-grandson. Preceding Carolyn in death were three sisters: Kathryn Grabner, Theresa Beauchot, and Sharon Wenger; and five brothers and sisters who died in infancy: Betty, Barbara, Rosemary, Howard, and Joan. A prayer service will be held at 9:15a.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at the Zwick&Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Rose Catholic Church, Monroeville with Fr. LourdinoFernandes officiating. Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m., Monday, October 7, at the funeral home with a rosary service to be held at 2:30 p.m. Preferred memorials are for Masses, St. Joseph School Building Fund, or Special Olympics of Allen County.
