Darlene K. (Geyer) Johnson, 64 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2013 in the Chalet Village located in Berne. She was born on Wednesday, December 22, 1948 in Decatur, Indiana the daughter of Verlyn R. Geyer, who passed away on September 19, 2008 and Helen I. (Michaud) Geyer, who passed away on August 24, 2002. Darlene was a member of the Decatur Church of God where she was a past youth leader and she helped with the Children's Choir at Cleveland Street Church of God. She was the head of the Cake Decorator's Club for 4-H in LaGrange, Indiana. She was a graduate of Adams Central High School in 1968 and Parisian Beauty College in 1976. Darlene was an Avon Representative since 2011 and had previously sold Mary Kay Cosmetics and was a beautician. Surviving are her son, Shawn C. (Jenny) Geyer of Berne, Indiana; grandson, Colby J. Cauble of Angola, Indiana; grandson, PFC Zachary Grabau of Fort Sill, Oklahoma; former husband, Rex A. Johnson of Decatur, Indiana; step-son, Rick A. (Kelly) Johnson of Hoagland, Indiana; step-granddaughter, Molly Rose Johnson of Hoagland, Indiana; step-grandchildren, Madison Johnson of Hoagland, Indiana; brother, Edwin Geyer of Decatur, Indiana; and brother, Roger A. Geyer of New Haven, Indiana. Preceding Darlene in death were her paternal grandparents, Lydia & Eli Geyer and maternal grandparents, Jess & Frances (Heller) Michaud. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2013 in the Decatur Church of God with Pastor Sandy Hildebrand and Pastor Jerry Mitchel officiating. Interment will follow in the Apostolic Christian Cemetery in Bluffton, Indiana. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. & 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, October 7 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Preferred memorials are to Decatur Church of God or the ACCF Angel Fund.
