Raymond J. Rolston, Jr., 86 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Lutheran Hospital. He was born on Tuesday, November 9, 1926 in Decatur, Indiana the son of the late Raymond Rolston, Sr. and the late Mollie Mae (Derringer) Rolston. He married Betty J. Harmon on January 13, 1948 in Decatur, Indiana. Raymond served in the United States Army as a medic during WWII, being deployed to the Philippine Islands in the Pacific Theater. He was scheduled to participate in the invasion of the Japanese home islands when the war ended. He was a member of the American Legion Post #43 of Decatur and the Steelworkers Organization of Active Retirees. Raymond retired from Central Soya in the maintenance department. Survivors include his wife, Betty J. Rolston of Decatur; daughter, Barbara (Mike) Bodle of Ossian; daughter, Vickie Jackson of Decatur; daughter, Nancy (Dave) Mosure of Decatur; & daughter, Rose (Rick) Hoover of Decatur. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Glen Hitchcock; Katheren (Jim) Thatcher; Lisa Gase; Tina (Jim) Marbach; Scott Mosure; & Erin Hoover and nineteen great-grandchildren. Preceding Raymond in death were a brother, Elmer Rolston and a sister, Rosie Iretta Rolston. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 9, 2013 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur with Molly Farthing officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery with Military Graveside services by American Legion Post #43 of Decatur. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. & 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, November 8 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur. Preferred memorials are to the Wounded Warrior Project.
