Carol Ann Brouwer, 71 years old of Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away at 2:05 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2013 in the Homestead Rehabilitation Center located in Lincoln, Nebraska. Carol was born on Friday, May 15, 1942 in Fort Wayne, Indiana the daughter of the late Alfred Eisenacher and the late Clemma (Tannehill) Eisenacher. She was married to her first husband, Robert C. Rice (he survives) and her second husband, Robert Brouwer, who passed away on March 18, 1998. Carol was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church-Flatrock in Monroeville, IN. She was a 1960 graduate of South Side High School in Ft. Wayne, IN. Carol was a homemaker and had worked as a Medical Records Secretary from 1987 to 1994. Carol enjoyed crafts, painting, and animals. Surviving are her daughter, Holly (Sean) Leach of Lincoln, NE; son, Brent (Shireen) Rice of Villa Rica, GA; great aunt, Betty Eisenacher of Fort Wayne, IN; brother, David Eisenacher of Fort Wayne, IN; brother, Donald (Nancy) Eisenacher of Fort Wayne, IN; three grandchildren: Jonathan D. H. Leach, Braiden Leach, and Brendan Rice. Preceding Carol in death was a son-in-law, Johnathan Lane Hockemeyer. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 23, 2013 in the St. John Lutheran Church, Flatrock with Rev. Douglas Christian officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenlawn Memorial Park, Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Friends will be received from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the St. John Lutheran Church-Flatrock Fellowship Hall in Monroeville, Indiana.
