Betty L. Pettibone, 92 years old of Woodburn, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Adams Heritage in Monroeville. She was born on Friday, March 25, 1921 in Tiffin, Ohio the daughter of the late Jesse Baker and the late Pearl (Miller) Baker. She married Gene Pettibone on February 14, 1967 in Rochester, Indiana. Betty was a member of St. Albans Episcopal Church in Fort Wayne and a former member of the Musician's Union in Fort Wayne. She retired in 1979 from Magnavox as an administrative assistant. Her daughter, Ginny, said of her mother "You made me what I am because you loved me". Surviving are her husband, Gene Pettibone of Woodburn; daughter, Virginia L. (Tony) Smith of Walton, Kentucky; son, Jeffrey W. (Connie) Chambers of Indianapolis; step-son, Gary L. (Carolyn) Pettibone of Fort Wayne; step-daughter, Donna (Norval) Lehman of Berne; step-son, Michael E. (Carol) Pettibone of Decatur; step-daughter, Angela (Mark) Wiegman of Aurora, Colorado; sister, Dorothy Blume of Sequim, Washington; tweleve grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren. Preceding Betty in death were a step-son, Daniel Pettibone and a sister, Rosemary Weiker. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2013 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur with Fr. Dan Laden officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery. Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to Family LifeCare in Berne, Indiana.
