Michael Glen Rose, 63 years old of Hoagland, Indiana, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2013 in Huntington, Indiana. He was born on Tuesday, July 18, 1950 in Des Moines, Iowa the son of the late Glen Joseph Rose and the late Frances Mae (Fisher) Shady. He married Denise Ann Sorg on September 6, 1986 in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hessen Cassel . Mike was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hessen Cassel; Southwest Conservation Club; Wells County Gun Club; and Hillside Gun Club. He retired in July 2013 from Custom Car Care in Decatur. Surviving are his wife, Denise Rose of Hoagland; two daughters, Amanda (Ben) Penrod and Kaitlyn Rose, both of Fort Wayne; two brothers, Roger (Cindy) Rose of Decatur and Don Rose of Paso Robles, CA; mother-in-law, Mildred Sorg of Hoagland; sister-in-law, Linda Sorg of Fort Wayne and his loyal hunting buddy, Indy. Preceding Michael in death were his step-father, Jack Shady and his father-in-law, Don F. Sorg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2013 in the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hessen Cassel with Fr. William Kummer officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Hessen Cassel. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 12 noon and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Monday, December 2 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville. There is visitation also from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Rosary service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Preferred memorials are Masses to the church.
