Kenneth W. Pancake, 71 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 7:40 a.m. on Monday, at his residence. Ken was born on Tuesday, March 3, 1942 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana the son of the late Virgil I. Pancake and the late Velma G. (Parks) Pancake. He married Barbara J. Borror on April 7, 1962 in Decatur, Indiana and she survives. Ken was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Decatur. Ken was a 1961 graduate of New Haven High School and attended Ivy Tech College. Ken retired from Central Soya in 1995 with over 28 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Barbara J. Pancake of Decatur, IN; son, Kip (Nina) Pancake of Decatur, IN; son, Tony (Kathy) Pancake of Decatur, IN; son, Tim Pancake of Decatur, IN; daughter, Tammy Averill of Decatur, IN; daughter, Tiffany (Matthew) Mathias of Portland, IN; 13 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 3 nieces. Preceding Kenneth in death was one brother, James A. Pancake. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 12, 2013 in the First United Methodist Church with Pastor Amy Covington officiating. Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2013 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, IN. Preferred memorials are to the family.
