Richard Allen Duffey, 78 years old of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away at 1:45 p.m. Thursday, December 19, 2013 in the St. Joseph Hospital located in Fort Wayne. Richard was born on Saturday, February 16, 1935 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana the son of the late Daniel Edward Duffey and the late Gertrude Joanne (Albersmeyer) Duffey. He married Marlene Ruth Bultemeyer on April 20, 1963 in the St. John Lutheran Church - Bingen and she survives. Richard was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church-Bingen. Richard served his country in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged following his tenure of service from 1955-1958. Richard worked at C-K Products in Ft. Wayne for 14 years and continued until his death. Richard was formerly employed by the United States Post Office. Surviving are his wife, Marlene Duffey of Ft. Wayne, IN; daughter, Dawn (Art) Norton of Ft. Wayne, IN; brother, Robert Duffey of Ft. Wayne, IN; brother, Gene (Mary) Duffey of Silver Springs, FL; sister, Joyce DeRemer of Ft. Wayne, IN; brother, Ronnie (Thanh) Duffey of Swansboro, NC; brother, Roger (Margaret) Duffey of Ft. Wayne, IN; granddaughter, Nicole Norton of Ft. Wayne, IN. Preceding Richard in death was one son, Allen Duffey on January 12, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 23, 2013 in the St. John Lutheran Church, Bingen with Pastor Peter J. Brock officiating. Interment will follow in the St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery - Bingen with military honors being conducted by the American Legion Post 43 Color Guard. Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Sunday, December 22, 2013 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, IN and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Preferred memorials are to St. John Lutheran Church-Bingen; Wyneken Lutheran School; St. John Lutheran Church-Cemetery Fund.
