Anna Bernice Hisner

Anna Bernice Hisner, 88 years old of Fort Wayne, Indiana, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 3:05 p.m. on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at Ashton Creek located in Fort Wayne. Anna was born on Friday, September 4, 1925 in Mintonville, KY the daughter of the late Clifford C. Cain and the late Bessie (Emerson) Cain. She married H. Parnell Hisner on January 4, 1948 in Indianapolis, IN and he survives. Anna was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Anna was a member of the Maples United Methodist Church in Maples, IN where she served on the church board as secretary and president. She had been president of the United Methodist Women; and a member of the Happy Harmony Home Economics Club. She enjoyed watching baseball and attending her grandchildren's activities. Anna was a secretary for Terra International where she worked for 22 years. Surviving are her husband, H. Parnell Hisner of Ft. Wayne, IN; daughter, Deborah A. (Gary) Spry of Monroeville, IN; daughter, Beverly J. Hoffman of Hoagland, IN; son, Randy P. (Chery) Hisner of Decatur, IN; brother, Robert (Dutchie) Cain of Indianapolis, IN; brother, William Cain of Indianapolis, IN; sister, Connie Seiler of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; 8 grandchildren: Angela Spry, Joshua (Jennifer) Gibson; Trisha Spry; Erik (Jessica) Hisner; Ashley (Brian) Brames; Ryan Hisner, Shane Hisner, Gavin Hisner; and 5 great-grandchildren: Lily Brames, Taylor Davis-Gibson, Emmett Gibson, Kaydence Thompson, Blakeley Hisner. Preceding Anna in death were 3 grandchildren, Adam Gibson in 1995; John Gibson in infancy; Jennifer Spry in infancy; and 7 sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 30, 2013 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel with Pastor Gerry Weesner officiating. Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, New Haven, IN. Friends will be received from 12:00 Noon - 4:00 p.m. Sunday, December 29, 2013 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, IN and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday. Preferred memorials are to Maples United Methodist or the Northeast Indiana Baseball Hall of Fame.
