Alice M. "Sally" Bittner, 98 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 9:48 a.m. on Sunday, January 12, 2014 in the Adams Memorial Hospital located in Decatur. Alice was born on Thursday, January 21, 1915 in Adams County, Indiana the daughter of the late Samuel Reinhart and the late Lizetta (Hanni) Reinhart. She married the late Alton C. Bittner on August 20, 1934 in Decatur, Indiana and he passed away on December 2, 2002. Alice was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church-Preble. She was a former member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur; and a former longtime Sunday School teacher at Zion Lutheran Church in Decatur and St. Paul Lutheran Church-Preble. Alice was a homemaker. Surviving are her son, Frank (Marlene) Bittner of Decatur, IN; son, Ronald (Carolyn) Bittner of Marion, IA; daughter, Faye (Robert E.) Keuneke of Decatur, IN; brother, Ted Reinhart of Decatur, IN; brother, Max Reinhart of Ft. Wayne; IN, 7 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren. Preceding Alice in death were 3 brothers, Melvin, Wayne, Harry Reinhart; 3 sisters, Lola Fox, Helen Foor, and Mabel Bishong; 1 great-grandson, Alton Charles Bittner. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2014 in the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Preble with Rev. Dr. Daniel J. Brege officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery, Decatur, Indiana. Friends will be received from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, January 16, 2014 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, IN and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Preferred memorials are to Bethesda Home, Lutheran World Relief, or St. Paul Lutheran Church-Preble.
