Carol A. Selking, 68 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 2:00 a.m. Monday, January 13, 2014 at her residence following a brief illness and surrounded by her family. Carol was born on Thursday, March 1, 1945 in Ashland, Ohio the daughter of the late Arthur Pipes and the late Alma (Kinsey) Pipes. She married Ronald L. Selking on September 11, 1965 in St. Paul Lutheran Church- Preble and he survives. Carol was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church-Preble, and was also involved in the church choir. Carol loved her garden! She took great pride in raising her garden and her flowers. Carol retired in October of 2011 from the Adams Memorial Health Network as a registered nurse after 25 years of service. Carol was also involved with the Adams County EMS prior to starting her nursing career. After she and Ron were married, she was also employed at North American Van Lines (now SIRVA) in Ft. Wayne. Carol was very proud of the fact she was fortunate to be a "stay-at-home" mom. Surviving are her husband, Ronald L. Selking of Decatur, IN; son, Darrin L. (Dr. Wendy) Selking of Valparaiso, IN; daughter, Angela R. Selking of Ft. Wayne, IN; grandson, Wesley J. Selking; grandson, Travis L. Selking; brother, Larry (Lynne) Pipes of Butler, OH. Preceding Carol in death were 3 brothers, Richard, Ronald, and Robert Pipes. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2014 in the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Preble with Rev. Dr. Daniel J. Brege officiating. Interment will follow in the St Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery - Preble. Friends will be received from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, January 16, 2014 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, IN and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Preferred memorials are to St. Paul Lutheran Church-Preble; Worship For Shut-Ins; or Family LifeCare-Berne.
