Robert L. Sipe, 87 years old of Willshire, Ohio, passed away at 7:53 p.m. on Monday, February 10, 2014 in the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center. Robert was born on Monday, June 14, 1926 in Adams County, Indiana the son of the late Harvey L. Sipe and the late Mary M. (Kelly) Sipe. He married Alice L. Gilpin on April 9, 1944 in Decatur. Robert was a member of the Eureka Lodge #592 - Ohio City Free & Accepted Masons and a member of the Adams County Amateur Radio Club. Robert retired from International Harvester in Fort Wayne with 30 years of service and had also been an Adams County farmer. Surviving are his wife, Alice L. Sipe of Willshire, Ohio; daughter, Pamela K. Osborn of Van Wert, Ohio; son, R. Steve (Beatriz) Sipe of Apple Valley, California; daughter, Linda J. (Chuck) Owens of Cicero, Indiana; daughter, Kim R. (Larry) Dailey of Decatur; sister, Marjorie (Robert) Gable of Fort Wayne; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren. Preceding Robert in death were a son, Greg L. Sipe; a daughter, Connie S. Miller; two brothers, Lester & Earl Sipe; and a great-grandson, Alexander Girod. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 16, 2014 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Celebrant Molly Farthing officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope (Willard) Cemetery in rural Berne, Indiana. Friends will be received from 1-3 and 4-6 p.m. Saturday, February 15, 2014 in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and from 12 noon until 3 p.m. Sunday, February 16, 2014 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home. A Masonic Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Saturday evening. Preferred memorials are to Community Health Professionals Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
