Carl V. Bultemeier

Carl V. Bultemeier, 86 years old of Hoagland, Indiana, passed away at 1:45 p.m. on Monday, February 24, 2014 at his residence following a short illness. Carl was born on Sunday, December 11, 1927 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana the son of the late Victor Bultemeier and the late Wilhelmina (Selking) Bultemeier. He married Dorothy Lepper on September 2, 1950 in New Haven, Indiana and she survives. Carl was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church-Bingen; the Heritage Lions Club; and Hoagland Area Advancement Association (HAAA). Carl was retired from the Hoagland Volunteer Fire Dept. after 35 years. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #420 in Monroeville. Carl served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Carl retired in February 1981 from International Harvester Company after 37 years of service. Following his retirement, he had worked part-time at Madison Cabinet. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Bultemeier of Hoagland, IN; son, Ronald C. (Judy) Bultemeier of Monroeville, IN; son, Keith A. (Joan) Bultemeier of Monroeville, IN; daughter, Cherly A. Sicks of New Haven, IN; sister, Marie Wiefeldt of Monroeville, IN; 6 grandchildren: Amy (David) Riddle, Kelli (Chad) Zelt, Brad (Sandra) Bultemeier, David (Angela) Sicks, Sarah (Ryan) Ennis, and Shane Bultemeier; 5 great-grandchildren: Taylor Zelt, Kendall Zelt, Clay Riddle, Charlie Riddle, and Lenai Riddle; 2 step-great-grandchildren: Nicole Riddle and Kylie Zelt; and 1 step-great-great-grandchild: Justin Fulton. Preceding Carl in death was a sister in infancy. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 28, 2014 in the St. John Lutheran Church, Bingen with Pastor Peter Brock officiating. Interment will follow in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery-Bingen. Friends will be received from 1-4 and 5-8 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2014 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, IN and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Preferred memorials are to St. John Lutheran Church-Bingen or Worship For Shut Ins.
