Eileen M. Freeby, 82 years old of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and a former longtime resident of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 1:25 a.m. on Friday, February 28, 2014 in the Woodview Healthcare Center located in Fort Wayne, where she had been a resident for the past year. Eileen was born on Thursday, July 23, 1931 in Preble, Indiana the daughter of the late Arthur H. Bieberich and the late Adele I. (Graft) Bieberich. She married the late Daniel Robert Freeby on June 7, 1953 in the Zion Lutheran Church-Decatur and he passed away on December 23, 1992. Eileen was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church-Decatur where she was an organist for services (60 plus years) and accompanist for the choir for many years. She was also the accompanist for the Lutheran Chorale for many years. Eileen had retired from Thunderbird Products in Decatur after 35 years of service where she worked in the accounts payable department. Surviving are her daughter, Susan (Bruce) Bernhardt of Coatesville, IN; daughter, Laurie (Joe) Kunst of Willow Springs, IL; daughter, Emily (Rick) Miller of Ft. Wayne, IN; daughter, Jennifer (Mark) Bradtmueller of Ft. Wayne, IN; daughter-in-law, Teri Freeby of Ft. Wayne, IN; brother, Loren (Barbara) Bieberich of Noblesville, IN; and 10 grandchildren: Tarrah (Seth) Martin; Evan Bernhardt; Jessica (Matt) Lakics; Adam Freeby; Ryan Freeby; Brinn Miller; Lucas Miller; Daniel Bradtmueller; Jacob Bradtmueller; and Nathan Bradtmueller. Preceding Eileen in death was one son, Kent R. Freeby on December 26, 2012; two brothers, Richard Bieberich and Donald Bieberich. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014 in the Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Phil Phifer and Rev. Robert Becker officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2014 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, IN and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Preferred memorials are to Zion Lutheran Church Choir and Music Fund.
