RuthAnn Penrod, 68 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 1:22 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2014 in the Lutheran Hospital of Indiana located in Fort Wayne, Indiana following a brief illness. RuthAnn was born on July 30, 1945 in Decatur, IN the daughter of the late Harold C. Hoffman (died on April 17, 2006) and the late Myrtle M. (Schrock) Hoffman (died January 5, 1965). She married Richard L. Penrod on April 6, 1979 in Washington D.C. and he survives. RuthAnn was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon) in Decatur. RuthAnn was employed by CTS Corp in Berne, IN for 35 years. Following the closure of CTS, she was employed for 6 years at the Decatur Wal-Mart. Following her graduation from high school, she worked for the FBI in Washington D.C. for a period of five years. Surviving are her husband, Richard L. Penrod of Decatur, IN; step-mother, Mary A. Hoffman of Decatur, IN; brother, Michael (Diana) Hoffman of Decatur, IN; sister, Vicki (Allen) Milholland of Decatur, IN; brother, Thomas Sheets of Decatur, IN; sister, Julie O'Beirne of Decatur, IN; sister-in-law, Shirley Hoffman of Decatur, IN; sister-in-law, Adele Sheets of San Diego, CA; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceding RuthAnn in death were one son, Richard L. Penrod II; 2 brothers: Ronald L Hoffman and Jesse E. Sheets. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014 in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 88 W. Cardinal Pass, Decatur, IN with President James E. Steele officiating. Burial will take place on Saturday at the Pleasant Grove Memorial Park in Murphysboro, IL. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2014 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, IN and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. Preferred memorials are to Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon)-Decatur; or St. Paul Lutheran Church-Preble.
