Thomas F. Eichhorn Jr., 62 years old of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away at 2:28 a.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2014 in the Lutheran Hospital of Indiana located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. His death was unexpected and followed a brief illness. Tom was born on Monday, December 17, 1951 in Decatur, Indiana the son of the late Thomas F. Eichhorn Sr. and the late Leota Madge (Waldron) Eichhorn. Tom was a member of the Moose Lodge #1311-Decatur, IN; and the Eagles Lodge #2653-Decatur. Tom was a graduate of Bellmont High School and had attended ITT studying automotive mechanics. Tom retired from North American Van Lines (now SIRVA) on March 28, 2006 after 12 years of service. Following his retirement, Tom was also employed at the Ft. Wayne Auto Auction. Prior to working at North American Van Lines, Tom was also employed at International Harvester in Ft. Wayne for many years. Surviving are his daughter, Lindsay (Xavier) Davis of Atlanta, GA; grandson, Devin Davis of Atlanta, GA; granddaughter, Natalia Davis of Atlanta, GA; friend, Karen Barton of Ft. Wayne, IN; step-son, Todd Schweyer of Decatur, IN; sister, Beth A. McIntyre of Decatur, IN; brother, Michael Eichhorn of Decatur, IN; sister, Vicki Williams of Decatur, IN; sister, Cheryl Bauermeister of Decatur, IN; sister, Amber Eichhorn of Decatur, IN; brother, Tim Eichhorn of Decatur, IN. A Moose Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2014 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home. Following the Moose Service, a funeral service for Tom will follow, also being held at the funeral home, with Rev. Gary Bowers officiating. Friends will be received from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, IN. Preferred memorials are to the Heart Transplant Fund at Lutheran Hospital.
