Isaac "Ed" Spencer, 85 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at his residence. He was born on Thursday, April 18, 1929 in Clay City, Kentucky the son of the late Jesse Spencer and the late Elizabeth (Hall) Spencer. He married Gloria L. Spencer on June 26, 1953 in Logansport, Indiana and she passed away on September 24, 2011. Ed served his country in the United States Army from 1948 to 1960. He was a 1948 graduate of Twelve Mile High School in Twelve Mile, Indiana; where he was the president of his Senior high school class. Ed served as an elder at the North Christian Church in Fort Wayne and also on the Pastoral Relations Committee and Search Committee. He served as president of the Fort Wayne Insurance Adjusters Association. His hobbies included golf and horses; as well as being an avid fan for baseball, basketball, and football. He loved to spend time with his family, always finding time for his grandchildren. From 1961 to 1983 he was an Insurance Adjuster for GAB and then continued his profession as a self-employed insurance adjuster. Surviving are his daughter, Rhonda S. (Ron) Gleckler of Monroeville; daughter, Elaine Spencer of Fort Wayne; daughter, Lori L. (Angel) Delarosa of Toledo, Ohio; four grandchildren, Stacy (Bobby) Muldoon; Amanda Deardorf; Rachael (Ben) Keller; & Kristen (Jon) Sorg; five great-grandchildren, Taylor & R.J. Muldoon and Hannah, Ruby, & Georgia Keller; and one great great-grandchild, Leyton Ronnie. Preceding Isaac in death were four sisters, Mina Ethel; Ella May; Alta Frances; & Ruth and six brothers, James Raymond; Roy; Sidney Earl; Lenual Vernon; C. Forrest & Ralph Dean. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2014 in the North Christian Church, 5201 South Camden Drive in Fort Wayne with Rev. Kate Terlep officiating. Friends will be received from 12 noon until the time of service on Sunday at the church. Preferred memorials are to North Christian Church in Fort Wayne.
