Linda Sorg, 63 years old of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at her residence. She was born on Thursday, July 6, 1950 in Allen County, Indiana. She married Thomas Sorg on October 17, 1970 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Linda was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hessen Cassel and was active in the food bank at the church for 3 to 4 years. She retired in 2006 from Phelps Dodge with 37 years of service. Surviving are her husband, Thomas Sorg of Fort Wayne; son, Roy (Jennifer) Sorg of Hoagland; son, Ken (Angie) Sorg of New Haven; sister, Margaret Joan Stearns of South Bend; sister, Delores (Jack) Tomlinson of New Haven; sister, Nancy (George) Branning of Fort Wayne; sister, Patricia (Jim) Brandt of Fort Wayne; and three granddaughters, Emily Sorg; Erica Sorg; & Hannah Sorg. Preceding Linda in death were her mother, Kathryn O'Connor and her brother, Paul O'Connor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2014 in the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hessen Cassel with Father William Kummer officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Hessen Cassel. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, May 16 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. A Rosary service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to St. Joseph Hessen Cassel Food Bank or Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.
