Ruth Ann Maldeney, 75 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at her residence. Ruth was born on Thursday, December 29, 1938 in Allen County, Indiana the daughter of the late Henry S. Renninger and the late Cecilia (Hoffman) Renninger. She married Richard E. Maldeney on April 30, 1960 in St. Joseph Catholic Church- Hessen Cassel and he survives. Ruth was a member of the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Decatur; the International Music Association Inc. of Toledo, OH; Toledo Area Polka Society; and the Ohio Polka Boosters. Ruth was a graduate of Hoagland High School Class of 1957. Ruth retired from Lincoln National Life Insurance Co. in March of 2000 after 34 years of service. Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Richard E. Maldeney of Decatur, IN; daughter, Deborah S. (Kay) Maldeney of Fishers, IN; daughter, Rhonda J. (Barb) Maldeney of Kendallville, IN; brother, Eugene (Mary) Renninger of Ft. Wayne, IN; sister, Sister Theresa Renninger O.S.F. of Avilla, IN; sister, Sister Marilyn Renninger O.S.F. of Frankfort, IL; brother, Robert (Marge) Renninger of Yoder, IN; sister, Gertrude Brames of Monroeville, IN; brother, Arthur (Julie) Renninger of Ft. Wayne, IN; brother, Richard (Karen) Renninger of Ft. Wayne, IN; sister-in-law, Rose Renninger of Ft. Wayne, IN. Preceding Ruth in death were 4 brothers, Henry, Jerome, Norbert, & Jule Renninger; 1 sister, Judith Renninger; 1 brother-in-law, Parnell Brames. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2014 in the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church with Father Dave Voors, officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery- Hessen Cassel, Fort Wayne, IN. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2014 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, IN and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the St. Mary's Parish Hall. A Rosary Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to Family LifeCare-Hospice; Masses; Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart.
