Evelyn L. Deuter, 95 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Adams Heritage in Monroeville. She was born on Wednesday, November 20, 1918 in Monroeville, Indiana the only child born to Joseph Simmers and Flossie (Couey) Simmers. She married Arthur H. Deuter on December 24, 1937 and he preceded her in death in November of 2000. Evelyn was a retail associate at numerous department stores in Fort Wayne. Surviving are her daughter, Nancy L. (Don) Gangler of Jacksonville, Alabama; daughter, June C. (Bob) Layne of Chicago, Illinois; daughter, Karen M. (Richard) Renninger of Fort Wayne; son, David M. Deuter of Maui, Hawaii; ten grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, August 4, 2014 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville with Rev. Ralph Klinker officiating. Interment will follow in Covington Memorial Gardens in Fort Wayne. Friends will be received from 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, August 3 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville. Preferred memorials are to Adams Heritage.
