Loren M. "Brad" Bradfield, 86 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Adams Heritage in Monroeville. He was born on Tuesday, October 11, 1927 in Buffalo, New York the son of the late Henry F. Bradfield and the late Cora B. (Gillard) Bradfield. He married Martha "Marty" Pitzen on September 19, 1953 in Allen County, Indiana. Loren served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Haven; American Legion Post #420 in Monroeville; and a life member of the VFW #2457 in New Haven. He retired in 1981 from International Harvester in Fort Wayne after 33 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Martha Bradfield of Hoagland; daughter, Karen (David) Hillery of Van Wert, Ohio; daughter, Kathleen Parker of Van Wert, Ohio; daughter, Sister Mary Joseph of Belcourt, North Dakota; son, Michael (Carolyn) Bradfield of Lima, Ohio; daughter, Jean (Tim) Schmidt of Hoagland; son, Brian "Buck" (Ranell) Bradfield of New Haven; daughter, Lori Bradfield of Fort Wayne; daughter, Tricia (Todd) Anderson of Hoagland; daughter, Lynda (William) Stoops of Indianapolis; daughter, Vicki (Chuck) Kizer of Harlan; and sister, Carol Dull of Fort Myers, Florida. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 20 step great-grandchildren; and three step great great-grandchildren. Preceding Loren in death were two brothers, Henry & Lester; four sisters, Viola; Candace; Norma; and Audrey; and two sons-in-law, John Boyles and Dennis Parker. A Prayer service will be held at 9:15 a.m. Monday, August 11, 2014 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville with Fr. Bill Sullivan and Fr. Laurdino Fernandes officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Rose Catholic Cemetery in Monroeville with Military Graveside Services to be conducted by the Amerian Legion Post #420 of Monroeville. Friends will be received from 12 noon to 3 p.m. and 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Sunday, August 10 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville. A Rosary service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to Adams Heritage or Masses to the church.
