Marie L. Bradtmueller, 81 years old of Hoagland, Indiana, passed away at 2:15 p.m. on Friday, August 15, 2014 in the Ossian Health Care Center located in Ossian, Indiana. Marie was born on Wednesday, June 7, 1933 in Preble, Indiana the daughter of the late William Witte and the late Anna (Weber) Witte. She married the late Wilbert Bradtmueller on October 10, 1953 in the Zion Lutheran Church- Friedheim; and he passed away on October 27, 2004. Marie was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church-Bingen. Marie was a 1951 graduate of Monmouth High School. Marie began her employment at Ft. Wayne Wire Die, but she spent most of her time as a cook at the 3 Kings Tavern in Hoagland. She was also employed by the Indiana Auto Auction Sales. Surviving are her son, Terry (Arlene Hoover) Bradtmueller of Ft. Wayne, IN; son, Jeff (Sherril) Bradtmueller of Hoagland, IN; son, Kevin Bradtmueller of Hoagland, IN; son, Barry (Cindy) Bradtmueller of Hoagland, IN; son, Kurt (Terri) Bradtmueller of Ossian, IN; brother, Gerhard Witte of Decatur, IN; sister, Dorothy (Raymond) Schapper of Woodburn, IN; sister, Laura (Norbert) Merkle of Ohio City, OH; sister, Lorena (Marvin) Hockemeyer of Harlan, IN; sister, LaVera (Duane) Linker of New Haven, IN; 5 grandchildren: Jason Bradtmueller, Rachel Bradtmueller, Grace Bradtmueller, Lisa Roemer, and Cathy Terhune; 4 great-grandchildren: Mackenzie Terhune, Kennedy Terhune, J.T. Roemer, and David Roemer; and 1 great-great-granddaughter: Ava Roemer. Preceding Marie in death were 1 grandson, Dan Jeffrey; 1 great-grandson, Conner Terhune; 3 brothers, Alvin "Ollie" Witte, Clarence Witte, & William "Sammy" Witte. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2014 in the St. John Lutheran Church, Bingen with Pastor Daniel Dahling officiating. Interment will follow in the St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery- Bingen. Friends will be received from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2014 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, IN and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. Preferred memorials are to St. John Lutheran Church-Bingen or Worship For Shut Ins.
