Irene Kay Myers, 87 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away at 7:40 a.m. on Sunday, September 21, 2014 in the Parkview Regional Medical Center located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Irene was born on Saturday, April 23, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York the daughter of the late Roy H. Andress and the late Catherine T. (Marquart) Andress. She married the late Ralph J. "Buck" Myers on June 20, 1948 and he preceded her in death on October 12, 2012. Irene was a member of the Monroeville United Methodist Church. She was one of the original volunteers at the Cornerstone Youth Center. Irene was a homemaker and was a self-employed daycare provider for many years in Monroeville. Many children were blessed over the years by her loving care. Irene loved working and creating beauty in her flower gardens. Surviving are her daughter, Nanette Kay Myers of Corpus Christi, TX; daughter, Kimberly Fay (Gregory) Smith of Decatur, IN; daughter, Melissa Renee Garman of Huntertown, IN; son, Timothy Jay (Tina) Myers of Monroeville, IN; daughter, Melinda Rae (Kurt) Bleke of Ft. Wayne, IN; brother, Bruce J. (Barbara) Andress of Vero Beach, FL; brother, Herman R. (Cecilia) Andress of Alachua, FL; 9 grandchildren: Nicole (David) Wingate; Jay Smith; Andrew (Lauren) Kipfer; Taner Kipfer; Jami (Dan Binder) Doutt; Jasmen (Nate McLaughlin) Myers; Cole Bleke; Conner Bleke; and Benjamin Bleke; 7 great-grandchildren: Sydney Kipfer; Brielle Schultz; Amelia Schultz; Isaac Schultz; Isabella Myers; Gracie Binder; and Lilly Binder; 3 step-great-grandchildren: Zachary Wingate; Kennedy Lankhorst; and Aiden McLaughlin. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 25, 2014 in the Monroeville United Methodist Church with Pastor Mark Walus officiating. Interment will follow in the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery. Friends will be received from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2014 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, IN and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Preferred memorials are to Cornerstone Youth Center of Monroeville or Monroeville United Methodist Church.
