One of the greatest people we have ever known is now sitting next to Jesus in Heaven. Judy (Butler) Murray, 65, passed away Monday, October 27 at the University of Michigan Medical Center. She battled cancer for many years, but instead it was a heart problem that took her from us. Judy grew up in rural Adams County near Bobo. She married our dad, Bill Murray, 44-years-ago. They had two of the most awesome boys you could ever want, Tony and Scott. Tony, the oldest, married Jennifer Flory, and they have a daughter, Langley. Scott married Missy Rumschlag, and they have two children, Madison and Griffin. These three grandchildren were mom's life. She took them to places we told her not to, she bought them things we wouldn't, and when we said no, she would say, "Don't worry, Grandma Judy will take care of it." Our mom loved to travel. She would often say there is nothing better than being at the ocean. She loved to go gambling with dad and her friends, enjoyed being outside taking care of the flowers, loved Disney World, couldn't start a day without coffee and of course, never turned down a piece of chocolate. She had many jobs, but spent most of her time in the banking world retiring from Wells Fargo. She loved helping people. Our mom has five brothers! She was the baby, but often had to be a mother to them or at least keep them out of trouble. They include the late Tom and late Brenda Butler, Joe and his late wife Judy Butler, Paul and Beverly Butler, Jack Butler, and Jim and Bev Butler. Our dad has two sisters and they became our mom's sisters. They are Deedra Pickford and her late husband Steve, also Cindy and Harold Painter. None of this life of fun and excitement would have been possible without our grandparents. Our mom has joined them all, except our Grandma Jean. Our mom's parents are Luella and Hubert Butler. Our dad's parents are Bill and Jean Murray. Please come and celebrate our mom's life with us at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 31, 2014 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur. Laughter and tears will be shared from 1 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to the celebration on Friday at the funeral home. If you would like to honor our mom's memory through donation, the family has chosen Adams County Community Foundation - Cancer Fund.
