Nancy Kay Richard, 56 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2014 in the Parkview Regional Medical Center. She had battled ALS for eighteen months. She was born on Saturday, July 5, 1958 in Decatur, Indiana the daughter of the late Ralph Gerardot and Doris (Anderson) Gerardot. She married Matt Richard on May 4, 1979 in St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville. Nancy was a member of the American Legion Post #420 Auxiliary in Monroeville. She had worked for over 30 years for Women's Health Advantage in Fort Wayne. Surviving are her husband, Matt Richard of Monroeville; daughter, April (Jason) Christlieb of Auburn; son, Jason (Brittany Musselman) Richard of Monroeville; daughter, Amanda Richard of New Haven; son, Justin Richard of Monroeville; mother, Doris Gerardot of Maples; brother, Steve Gerardot of Maples; sister, Laura (Jack McCullough) Beery of Monroeville; sister, Carol (Tom) Brames of Monroeville; sister, Joan (Mike) Aurand of Monroeville; sister, Ellen (Jim) Wyss of New Haven; brother, Jeff (Becky) Gerardot of Maples; mother-in-law, Rosemary Richard of Monroeville, and granddaughter, Stella Christlieb. Preceding Nancy in death were two sisters, Barbara Gerardot and Patricia Rumschlag. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 17, 2014 in the St. Mark's Lutheran Church with Pastor David Williamson officiating. Interment will follow in the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery. Friends will be received from 12 noon to 6 p.m., Sunday, November 16 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
