Allen E. Brune, 85 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at Ossian Health & Rehabilitation. He was born on Sunday, October 20, 1929 in Paulding County, Ohio the son of the late Oltie Brune and the late Cora P. (Snyder) Brune. He married Jacqueline Wehrly on March 24, 1951 and she preceded him in death on March 8, 1976. On February 5, 1978 he married Mary B. (Bollinger) High. Allen served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church and a previous member of the American Legion Post #43 of Decatur and the Decatur Rotary Club. Allen was the owner and operator of Complete Printing Service in Decatur for 24 years. Surviving are his wife, Mary B. Brune of Decatur; daughter, Amy C. (Larry) Peters of Clarksville, TN; son, Charles A. (Jean) Brune of Decatur; daughter, Katherine E. (Bob) Gent of Decatur; son, James P. (Rhonda) Brune of Decatur; son, John H. (Jodie) Brune of Fort Wayne; step-son, Ralph A. (Dina) High of Brownsburg, IN; step-daughter, Colleen (Scott) Dailey of Fort Wayne; step-daughter, Linda (Terry) Smitley of Decatur; and step-son, Kevin (Karen) High of Kalamazoo, MI. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Allen was preceded in death by five brothers, Henry Brune; Ervin Brune; Morris Brune; Paul Brune; and Richard Brune. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2014 in the First United Methodist Church with Pastor Amy Covington officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery with Military Graveside Honors to be conducted by the American Legion Post #43. Friends will be received from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, December 1 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Preferred memorials are to Fishes & Loaves Ministry through the 1st United Methodist Church.
