Dawn E. Thomas, 49 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2014 at her residence. She was born on Saturday, October 9, 1965 in Phoenix, Arizona the daughter of the late Boyd Harrison and Emma (Mullins) Lacatis. Dawn was formerly employed by Esteves DWD Wire Group in Decatur. She loved playing golfand played with her sisters every year in a team at the Rally for A Cure fundraiser for Breast Cancer Research. She was a great cook and enjoyed watching cooking shows and learning from them. A lover of the art of crocheting, she made each of her sisters an afghan. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing card games, board games, cornhole, and dice and was very competitive! She enjoyed music and karaokeand had fun doing itespecially "We are Family". She enjoyed life and was happy till the end. Surviving are her son, Ethan Ellenberger of Decatur; daughter, Kayli Ellenberger of Portland; son, Tyler Ellenberger of Ohio City, OH; companion, Paul Ray Marshall of Decatur; sister, Dianna (Duane) Ehlerding of Decatur; sister, Donna (Larry) Bender of Convoy, OH; sister, Doris Lautzenheiser of Decatur; sister, Deborah (Doug) Schmit of Geneva; sister, Lory (Garry) Wilson of Decatur; sister, Denise (Doug) Beahrs of Decatur; and granddaughter, Kinlee Ellenberger. Dawn was preceded in death by her step-father, George Lacatis. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 6, 2014 in the Porter Auditorium at Adams Woodcrest with Funeral Celebrant Molly Farthing officiating. Friends will be received from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 6, 2014 also in the Porter Auditorium at Adams Woodcrest. Preferred memorials are to the family.
