Adam C. "Bill" Spieth

Adam C. "Bill" Spieth, 91 years old of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Select Care Speciality Hospital in Fort Wayne. He was born on Friday, May 4, 1923 in Fort Wayne, Indiana the son of the late William Spieth and the late Cecilia (Bacon) Spieth. He was married to Grace E. Towsley and she preceded him in death in December of 1995. Bill proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II from 1943 - 1946, receiving the Navy/Marine Corp "Medal of Heroism". He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Soest; an active member with the Allen County 40 & 8-VOITURE #37; VFW Post 10006; the American Legion Post 296; and the Navy Club Ship 245. Bill retired from General Electric in 1983 after 43 years of service and retired from farming in 2004, but still managed a great garden. Surviving are his son, Michael "Mike" (Rosemary) Spieth of Monroeville; brother, Daniel "Dan" (Eileen) Spieth of Fort Wayne; granddaughter, Michele (Roger) Bartholomew of Apple Valley, CA; three great-grandchildren; and six great great-grandchildren. Preceding Adam in death were his sisters, Vera Bradtmiller, Janice Voirol, Thelma Spieth in infancy; and brothers, Jack Spieth, Cletus Spieth, and Darwin in infancy. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 31, 2015 in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Soest located at 9909 Wayne Trace in Fort Wayne with Rev. Kyle Krueger officiating. Interment will follow in the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery with graveside services to be conducted by the American Legion Post #420 of Monroeville. Friends will be received from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, January 30 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville, Indiana and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Monroeville EMS or Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Soest.
