Eloise M. Aumann, 88 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away at 3:04 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 in the Lutheran Hospital of Indiana located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Eloise was born on Tuesday, June 22, 1926 in Adams County, Indiana the daughter of the late Martin Aumann and the late Ida (Bultemeier) Aumann. Eloise was a member of St. John Lutheran Church-Bingen and the church choir for many years. She also volunteered at Lutheran Hospital on Fairfield Avenue for 25 years and the The Lutheran Home (now Lutheran Life Villages) for many years. Eloise graduated from Monmouth High School in 1945 and had retired from Hoosier Wire Die and then Heritage Wire Die with many years of service. She had previously worked at J.C. Penney for 19 years as office manager and also at Hillman's China for 2 years. Eloise enjoyed square dancing and bowling. She was very active in both Ft. Wayne and Decatur bowling. Surviving are her sister, Alvina Sauer of Decatur, IN; sister, Florence Hoffman of Hoagland, IN; sister, Marlene (Otto) Fuhrman of Decatur, IN; sister-in-law, Evelyn Aumann of Decatur, IN; 16 nieces & nephews. Preceding Eloise in death were 2 sisters: Marie Wiegman & Erna Melcher; 1 brother: Fritz Aumann; 4 brothers-in-law: Morris Wiegman, Carl Melcher, Harold Sauer, & Gilbert Hoffman; 1 nephew: Randy Melcher. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 1, 2015 in the St. John Lutheran Church, Bingen with Rev. Peter Brock officiating. Interment will follow in the St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery-Bingen. Friends will be received from 2-3 p.m Friday, January 30, 2015 in the Lutheran Life Village Chapel, 6701 S. Anthony Blvd. Ft. Wayne, IN; and 2-7 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2015 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, IN and one hour prior to services Sunday at the church. Preferred memorials are to The Lutheran Hour; Worship For Shut-Ins; St. John Lutheran Church-Bingen; or Lutheran Life Villages.
