Gayla Dukin, 50 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne following an extended illness. She was born on Monday, March 9, 1964 in Fort Wayne, Indiana the daughter of the late Ivan "John" Dukin and the late Fannie (Schilingowski) McDougall. She attended the St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Fort Wayne. Prior to becoming disabled, Gayla was employed by the Stoneridge Electronics Company in Portland, Indiana. Surviving are her daughter, Angel (Tony) Lawrence of Venedocia, OH; son, Billy Dukin of Decatur; son, Mitchell Dukin of Decatur; brother, Pete (Carol) Mironenko of Burlington, IN; brother, John Mironenko of Kendallville, IN; sister, Maria Dukin of OK; sister, Nadje (Doug) Shelpman of Fort Wayne; sister, Nina (Tony) Glasser of Fort Worth, TX; sister, Luba (Kip) Katterhenry of Huntertown; sister, Vera Kimmel of Markleville, IN; sister, Olga Hinton of Fort Wayne; and sister, Raisa Robinson of Fort Wayne. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Jasmine McConnehey; Allison Black; Rease Lawrence; and Tessa Lawrence. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 28, 2015 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur with Father Andrew Jarmuis officiating. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of service, Saturday, February 28 in the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to the family.
