Rodger Allen Frey, 77 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 in New Delhi, India while visiting his grandson and family who live there. He was born on April 25, 1937 in New Haven, Indiana the son of the late Carl Hartzel Frey and the late Fern (Schackley) Frey-Miller. He married Ellen McAhren on March 28, 1957 and she died April 29, 1979; then he married Gerry (Kuhlman) Alberts in Grand Rapids on November 23, 1979 and she survives. Rodger was a member of the Common Ground Church of the Nazarene and The Jesus Club. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Rodger & Gerry were involved in missions and immensely enjoyed serving on 27 Work & Witness trips with Northeast Indiana Church of the Nazarene, district team. Rodger's daily walk with the Lord was lived out through his relationships with others. He loved his family and especially loved spending time with his grand and great-grandchildren, enjoyed farming, camping & visiting with friends and neighbors. Rodger retired from International Harvester after 30 years at age 48; then drove semi truck for Gary Clouse; Ruan; Workinger Farms; Dan Buchan; & Nidlinger Farms. Surviving are his wife, Gerry Frey of Decatur, IN; daughter, Brenda (Phil) Kizzee of Orland Park, IL; daughter, Pamela Woudstra of Newago, MI; daughter, Julie (Jeff) Luginbill of Decatur, IN; daughter, Robin Alberts of Decatur, IN; daughter, Jen Johnson of Kankakee, IL; brother, Charles (Chloe) Frey of Decatur, IN; brother, Keith Frey of Decatur, IN; brother, John (Kathy) Frey of St. George, UT; sister, Mary (Richard) Butler of Front Royal, VA; 12 Grandchildren: Andy (Susan) Kizzee of New Delhi, India; Austin (Elizabeth) Kizzee; of Illinois; Melissa (Shawn) Fessenden of Michigan; Michele Woudstra of Michigan; Hannah, Isaac, Elizabeth & Sarah Luginbill of Indiana; Sydney, Erick, Luke, & Bethany Johnson of Illinois; and 4 Great-Grandchildren: Ellia, Lyla, & Elowen Fessenden of Michigan; Marion Kizzee of New Delhi, India; and 2 more on the way. Preceding Rodger in death were 4 brothers: Wayne, Bob, Bud, & Jim Frey; and son-in-law, Dr. Ken Johnson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2015 at the Common Ground Church of the Nazarene 6555 N. Piqua Rd. Decatur, Indiana with Pastor Kevin Stirratt & Rev. Phil Kizzee officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt Tabor Cemetery. Military Graveside Honors by American Legion Post #43. Friends will be received from 1-4 and 5-8 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2015 at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, IN and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
