Meta Kammeyer

Meta Kammeyer, 95 years old of Leo, Indiana and formerly of Woodburn, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at The Cedars in Leo. She was born on Tuesday, March 23, 1920 in Allen County, Indiana the daughter of the late Herman Fuhrmann and the late Emelie (Nieter) Fuhrmann. She married William F. Kammeyer on February 19, 1944 in St. John Lutheran Church, Bingen and he preceded her in death on August 16, 2013. She was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Woodburn, Indiana. She enjoyed playing euchre and outside activities. Meta was a homemaker and assisted her husband with farming. She had also worked at General Electric in Fort Wayne and Bennett Clothing in New Haven. Surviving are her son, Dr. William A. (Sharon) Kammeyer of Fort Wayne; daughter, Susan E. (Michael) Lothamer of Woodburn; son, Jay R. Kammeyer of Fishers; and brother, Gerald Fuhrmann of Fort Wayne. She is also survived by six grandchildren, W. Randall Kammeyer; Krista Motter; Brentley Lothamer; Amber Butz; Jacquelin Kammeyer; and Jason Kammeyer and ten great-grandchildren, Annalissa; Rachel; Will; Megan; Cade; Nicholas; Ryley; Victoria; Mina; and Chloe. Preceding Meta in death were a son, John Kammeyer; a sister, Elda Franz; and a Brother, Erwin Fuhrmann. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2015 in the Christ Lutheran Church at 4412 Park Street in Woodburn with Rev. Tim Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in the Christ Lutheran Cemetery. Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 7 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville and one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Preferred memorials are to Christ Lutheran Church in Woodburn or Worship for Shut-Ins.
