Robert Wayne Bauermeister, 76, of Ossian, passed into the loving arms of the Lord on Monday, May 4, 2015. Robert was born on May 3, 1939, the eldest son of the late Arthur and Hilda (Doehrman) Bauermeister. Robert graduated from Hoagland High School in 1957. He married Jeanette Hoffman on October 25, 1958 at the St. John Lutheran Church - Flatrock. Robert was a lifelong farmer and truly enjoyed farming. In addition to farming, Robert also worked 10 years at Hoosier Wire - Die and he retired from West Wind Apartments in 2009 with 16 years of service. Robert enjoyed attending antique tractor shows and spending time with his family. Robert is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jeanette Bauermeister of Ossian; his son, James Bauermeister of Ossian; his daughter, Deborah Bacon of Ossian; his granddaughter, Katelyn Bacon of Ossian; and his brother, Tom (Sandy) Bauermeister of New Haven. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, John Bauermeister. Robert was a loving husband, father and grandfather Funeral services for Robert will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 8, 2015 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, 111 South Water Street, Monroeville, IN with Rev. Michael Frese officiating. Burial will follow the service in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery - Flatrock. Friends and family will be received on Thursday, May 7, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and also one hour prior to services Friday in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel. Preferred memorials are to the Redeemer Lutheran Church - Ft. Wayne.
