George H. Patrick

George H. Patrick, 94 years old of Berne and a longtime resident of Monroe, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. He was born on Thursday, September 23, 1920 in Zanesfield, Ohio the son of the late Pearl Patrick and the late Daisy Marie (Benton) Patrick. He married Betty J. Price on January 21, 1945 in Van Wert, Ohio and she preceded him in death on December 1, 2011. George attended West Missionary Church in Berne, Indiana and had formerly attended Friends Church in Monroe and Park United Brethren Church in Bluffton. He was a semi-truck driver for Farm Bureau Co-op for 28 years. Surviving are his daughter, Dianne (Norman) Glass of Berne; son, Tom (Colleen) Patrick of Ossian; son, Jim (Jill) Patrick of Monroe; daughter, Judy Schaper of Columbia City; daughter, Gloria (Ron) Monnot of Ossian; and daughter, Linda (Jeff) Patrick Ward of Fort Wayne. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, Rachelle Eisenmann; Mark Patrick; Jeni Tiedge; Heather Frank; Nicholas Bryan; Jodie Springer; Deva Betts; Nathan York; Kimberly Brune; Kelsi Fiechter; Darren Patrick; & Ty Preston; 18 great-grandchildren, Brooke Tiedge; Logan Staples; Lydia Eisenmann; Eliza Eisenmann; Kyle Patrick; Alex Staples; Cole Patrick; Alyssa Bryan; Luke Tiedge; Gracie York; Miranda Betts; Hailey Brune; Zachary Frank; Caleb Brune; Connor Fiechter; Gabriella York; Hannah Springer; and soon to be Ava Fiechter; and two step-great-grandchildren, Shaun Guise & Deion Guise. Preceding George in death were two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 22, 2015 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Rupp officiating. Interment will follow in the Ray Cemetery in Monroe. Friends will be received from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, May 21 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. Preferred memorials are to Parkview Home Health & Hospice, West Missionary Church or Gideon Bibles.
