Mary E. Schindler - Snyder, 83 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Friday, May 29, 2015 in the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center in Van Wert, Ohio. She was born on Saturday, February 27, 1932 in Adams County, Indiana the daughter of the late Edward Beer and the late Emma (Roth) Beer. She married Wellington C. "Bill" Snyder on February 19, 1993 and he preceded her in death on October 23, 2013. Mary was an active member of the Decatur Church of Christ serving in many different areas. She was a homemaker and retired from Dolco Packaging after 18 years of service. Surviving are her daughter, Sheryl (Steve) Haggerty of Rocky Mount, NC; son, Thomas (Debbi) Schindler of Decatur; step-daughter, Carla Miller of Fort Wayne; step-son, Mike (Donna) Snyder of Ray, OH; and brother, Kenneth Beer of Berne. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Jill (William) Sanders; Megan (Leo) Toye; Aaron (Jessica) Haggerty; Emily Richardson; Elizabeth (Brian) Browder; Jaime Schindler; Bryan Schindler; & Julia Schindler; three step-grandchildren, Zachery Snyder; Sam Snyder; & Jade Miller; eight great-grandchildren, Lauren Davis; Nathan Davis; Kaeli Sanders; Shannon Haggerty; Malachi Richardson; Bryson Browder; Chloe Sanders; & Tyler Toye; and several step great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Schindler; her grandson, Andrew Haggerty; two step-sons, Craig & Ricky Snyder; two sisters, Leola Robinson & Berteline Riley; and three brothers, Roland Beer, Leonard Roth, & Eli Beer. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2015 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Steve Haggerty and Aaron Haggerty officiating. Interment will follow in the Decatur Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 1 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur. Preferred memorials are to Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Care or Decatur Church of Christ.
