Raymond L. Hoffman, 89 years old of Hoagland, Indiana, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2015 in the The Laurels of DeKalb located in Butler, Indiana. Ray was born on Sunday, March 21, 1926 in Decatur, Indiana the son of the late Charles Hoffman and the late Katherine (Hartman) Hoffman. He married the late E. Irene Bauer on October 13, 1951 in the Trinity English Lutheran Church in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and she passed away on August 18, 1983. Ray was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church-Soest. He was a former member of the Heritage Lions Club in Hoagland. Ray was a lifelong Allen County farmer; and had worked at International Harvester for 36 1/2 years as a repairman and maintenance. Surviving are his daughter, Kathy Hoffman of Hoagland, IN; son, Ken (Gaylene) Hoffman of Auburn, IN; sister, Della (Carl) Hormann of Decatur, IN; 2 Grandchildren: Jarrod Hoffman and Andrew (Rachel) Hoffman; and 4 Great-Grandchildren: Natiya Hoffman; Jai'sean Miles; Alana Hoffman; Grayson Hoffman. Preceding Raymond in death were 2 brothers, Wilbert & Norwin Hoffman. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2015 in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Soest, 9909 Wayne Trace, Ft. Wayne, Indiana with Rev. Kyle Krueger officiating. Interment will follow in the Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Soest. Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Monday, June 8, 2015 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, 111 South Water St., Monroeville, Indiana and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church. Preferred memorials are to Emmanuel Lutheran Church-Soest; or Lutheran Life Villages; or the Laurels of DeKalb.
