Lloyd Dee Zimmerman

Lloyd Dee Zimmerman, 75 years old of Fort Wayne, Indiana and formerly of Huntington, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Bethlehem Woods Nursing & Rehabilitaion. He was born on Sunday, May 19, 1940 in Adams County, Indiana the son of the late Seth Douglas Zimmerman and the late Bonnie Louise (Slusher) Zimmerman. He married Ruth Elizabeth (Graham) Dolby on January 9, 1998 and she preceded him in death on August 28, 2012. Lloyd was a veteran of the United States Army serving from 1963 to 1965. He was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Huntington. Lloyd loved to talk and to help people. He retired in 2001 from Phelps Dodge with 35 years of service. Surviving are his son, Dwayne (Bianca King) Zimmerman of Fort Wayne; daughter, Krissa (Anthony) Jackson of Fort Wayne; sister, Patsy Stork of Fort Wayne; and brother, Glenn Zimmerman of Decatur. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Spencer (Jakkob) Herbst; Elana Zimmerman; MacKenzie Jackson; and Raymond Jackson; and two great-grandchildren, Esmi Stephan and Jasper Herbst. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda Kaye Zimmerman; a grandson, Ryan Zimmerman; and two brothers, Kenneth Zimmerman; and his twin-brother, Floyd Lee Zimmerman. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2015 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur with Pastor Dan York officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Dale Church Cemetery with Military Graveside Services to be conducted by the American Legion Post #43 of Decatur. Friends will be received from 12 noon to 2 p.m., Saturday, June 20 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur. Preferred memorials are to Honor Flight of NE Indiana.
