Edward L. Wiehe

Edward L. "Bud" Wiehe, 85 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2015 in Adams Heritage located in Monroeville. Ed was born on June 4, 1930 in Allen County, Indiana the Son of the late Louis A. Wiehe and the late Rosetta (Quandt) Wiehe. Ed was united in marriage to his first wife, Ruth Fieseler, on October 12, 1952 and she passed away on September 22, 1992. Following the death of his first wife, Ed was then united in marriage to Nyla M. Morningstar on August 7, 1994 and she passed away on June 8, 2011. Ed was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church-Flatrock in Monroeville; the American Legion Post #43 in Decatur; the Heritage Lions Club; and AAL (Thrivent Financial); and HAAA. Ed served his country in the United States Air Force from 1949-1952 where he was honorably discharged at the rank of staff sergeant. Ed was a lifelong farmer. He also worked for the Allen County Co-op in New Haven from 1952-1956. Ed retired from United Air Lines in 1986 with 30 1/2 years of service where, following his retirement from United, he worked at Towne Air Freight from 1986-1998. Surviving are his daughter, Patsy Jo (Bruce) Myers of Monroeville, IN; son, Byron K. (Karen) Wiehe of Sorrento, FL; son, Gregory M. (Melissa) Wiehe of Ft. Wayne, IN; son, Glen A. (Oralia) Wiehe of Conroe, TX; step-son, Gregory L. Wilkinson of Elkhart, IN; step-daughter, Paula N. Hutchison of Elkhart, IN; step-son, Leslie G. (Marla) Wilkinson of Elkhart, IN; special friend, Susan Hoffman of Monroeville, IN; 8 grandchildren: Jason Myers, Michael Myers, Kyle Wiehe, Amanda Godwin; Blake Wiehe; Hannah Jackson; Lindsey Sherrill; James Jackson-Wiehe; 8 step-grandchildren: Sarah Harless; Jonathan Wilkinson; Chris Knott; Will Hutchison; Roel Rocha; Ricardo Rocha; Rogeilo Rocha; Suzette Rocha; 9 great-grandchildren: Emily Myers; Chase Myers; Cassidy Myers; Zoey Godwin; Rosslyn Godwin; Layla Godwin; Kaleb Wiehe; Reagan Sherrill; Lillian Sherrill; Jared Myers; 5 step-great-grandchildren: Jocelyn Alvarado; Arthur Alvarado; Eddy Alvarado; Breeze Rocha; Breeza Rocha. Preceding Edward in death were 1 brother, Moritz Wiehe; 1 sister, Leola Stoppenhagen; 1 step-granddaughter, Luzette Rocha. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 24, 2015 in the St. John Lutheran Church, Flatrock with Rev. Douglas Christian officiating. Interment will follow in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery Flatrock. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 43 Color Guard. Friends will be received from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, IN and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Preferred memorials are to St. John Lutheran Church-Flatrock; Adams Heritage; Family LifeCare Hospice; or American Heart Association.
