Edward J. Huey, 82 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2015 in the Adams Memorial Hospital located in Decatur. Ed was born on May 13, 1933 in Jay County, Indiana the son of the late Edward G. Huey and the late Blanche E. (Ford) Huey. He married the late Betty L. Hough on December 7, 1952 in Geneva, Indiana and she passed away on February 5, 2001. Ed was a member of the American Legion Post #207 in Willshire, OH; Eagles #2653 in Decatur, IN; Loyal Order of the Moose #1311 in Decatur, IN. Ed served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Ed retired from General Electric Corporation-Decatur in 1989 with 36 years of service. Surviving are his daughter, Melinda K. (David) Bertsch of Decatur, IN; daughter, Becky L. (Todd) McDonald of Decatur, IN; sister, Judy Smith of Bryant, IN, sister, Nancy (Bill) Stultz of Anderson, IN; and 5 grandchildren: Jason Bertsch; Jessica Everett; Shelby McDonald; Janelle Everett; Nicholas McDonald; and 1 great-grandchild: Rosalie. Preceding Edward in death were one sister, Pauline Gettinger; 3 brothers: Art, Virgil, & Kenny Huey. Memorial services will be held at 12:00 Noon Wednesday, August 12, 2015 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home with Funeral Celebrant Molly Farthing officiating. Interment will be in the Springhill Cemetery in rural Monroe, IN. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, IN. Preferred memorials are to AGAPE Respite Care in Berne, IN.
