Thomas E. Omlor, 78 years old of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at his residence. He was born on May 27, 1937 in Decatur, Indiana the son of the late Jerome Omlor and the late Sadie (Fisher) Omlor. He married Shirley A. Taylor on August 24, 1968 at St. Rose Catholic Church. Thomas was a member of the St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville. He served his country in the United States Coast Guard from 1956-1960. He was employed at International Harvester from 1960-1980 and Bentz Metal in New Haven until his retirement in 2005. Surviving are his wife, Shirley A. Omlor of Monroeville; daughter, Sara L. (Nathan) Hein of Monroeville; son, Christopher Thomas Omlor of Monroeville; brother, Gerald (Beth) Omlor of Delores, CO; and three grandchildren, August, Margaret, & Jude Hein. Thomas was preceded in death by a brother, James F. Omlor and two sisters, Patricia Palcic and Phyllis Heidenreich. A Prayer Service will be at 9:20 a.m. Monday, August 24, 2015 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at the St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville with Father Lourdino Fernandes officiating. Interment will follow in the Monroeville Memorial Cemetery with Military Graveside Honors conducted by American Legion Post 420 of Monroeville. Friends will be received from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 23, 2015 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel in Monroeville. A Rosary will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are Tuition Assistance at St. Rose Catholic School in Monroeville or Masses.
