Mildred L. Keller, 102 years old of Decatur and formerly of Monroe, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at Adams Woodcrest where she had be a resident for the past 2 ½ years. She was born on Tuesday, October 21, 1913 in Adams County, Indiana the daughter of the late Lawrence H. Strickler and the late Lena S. (Cook) Strickler. She married Hubert W. Keller on February 1, 1936 and he preceded her in death on December 27, 2002. Mildred was a lifelong member of the Decatur Church of God of which her grandparents, Elmore & Alice Cook, were founding members. She was a homemaker and had worked for 21 years in housekeeping at Adams County Hospital. Mildred loved flowers including violets, roses, and her fern. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are her son, Robert (Judy) Keller of Decatur; daughter, Donna (Jerry) Gerber of Decatur; daughter, Lois (Tom) Brunstrup of Monroe; nine grandchildren, Ron (Jennifer) Keller; Mike (Angie) Keller; Stu (Sarah) Keller; Debby (Mark) Neuenschwander; Lisa (Steve) Imel; Kevin (Cara) Gerber; Amy (Chuck) Fenwick; Mark (Lora) Brunstrup; and Keith (Krista) Brunstrup; 20 great-grandchildren and one arriving in February; and nine great great-grandchildren and one arriving in May. Preceding Mildred in death were her brother, Lester Strickler; a sister in infancy; and a great great-grandson. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 5, 2015 in the Decatur Church of God with Jerry Mitchel and Dr. Robert Brink officiating. Interment will follow in the Ray Cemetery in Monroe. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2015 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Preferred memorials are to Decatur Church of God Kitchen Fund.
