Jacqueline Kay "Jackie" Hoffman, 67 years old of Decatur, Indiana, passed away on Monday, November 9, 2015 in the Lutheran Hospital of Indiana located in Fort Wayne. Jackie was born on October 13, 1948 in Richmond, Indiana the daughter of the late Lige Rice and the late Erma May (Parker) Rice - Grey. She married Duane Hoffman on September 9, 1968 in St. Paul Lutheran Church - Preble by Pastor Norman Kuck and he survives. Jackie was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church - Preble where she was a longtime Sunday School Teacher; a member of the American Legion Post #43 Auxiliary and the V.F.W. Post 6236 Auxiliary. Jackie enjoyed life, her kids, and her grandbabies. She was involved for many years with bowling in Decatur. Her love for sports included the Indiana Hoosiers and Bobby Knight. In her later years, she and Duane began camping and enjoying the outdoors. Jackie was employed for many years in the restaurant business, working at 3 Kings in Hoagland; Preble Garden's; and the American Legion Post #43 in Decatur. For 20 years, she was a supportive partner with her husband, Duane, in his tractor pulling endeavor. Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Duane Hoffman of Decatur, IN; son, Todd (Tina) Hoffman of Decatur, IN; daughter, Kimberlee (David) Vitatoe of Decatur, IN; sister, Brenda (Harry) Rice - Gross of Richmond, IN; sister, Madeline Rice - Kates of Greenfield, IN; 5 grandchildren: Kodi (Lindsey) Hoffman; Benjamin "Benny" Hoffman; Wil Hoffman; Madeline Vitatoe; & Zachary Vitatoe. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 12, 2015 in the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Preble with Rev. Dr. Daniel J. Brege officiating. Interment will follow in the St Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Preble. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 11, 2015 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, IN and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church. Preferred memorials are to St. Paul Lutheran Church - Preble; A.C.C.F. Angel Fund - Cancer.
