Dorothy "Dottie" Hurst

Dorothy H. "Dottie" Hurst, 82 years old of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Friday, November 13, 2015 at Lutheran Life Villages in Fort Wayne. She was born on Wednesday, September 20, 1933 in Allen County, Indiana the daughter of the late Clarence Minich and the late Elsie (Bobay) Minich. She married Arthur "Juggy" Hurst on February 9, 1974 in Adams County, Indiana and he preceded her in death on September 3, 2008. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hessen Cassel. Dottie was a homemaker and had worked as a telephone operator at General Telephone. Surviving are her daughter, Karen (Howard) Estep of Yoder; son, Steve (Terri) Felger of Kennesaw, GA; son, James (Cheryl) Felger of Fort Wayne; daughter, April (Shane) Perry of Fort Wayne; step-daughter, Susie (Kevin) Burry of Decatur; step-daughter, Becky Hurst Everett of Decatur; step-daughter, Mary (Gary) Watkins of Decatur; step-son, Mike Hurst of Decatur; sister, Mildred Vought of Fort Wayne; brother, Paul (Marilyn) Minich of Fort Wayne; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Preceding Dorothy in death were a granddaughter, Alyssa Brattain; a step-daughter, Darlene Stauffer; a sister, Eleanor Minich; and a brother, Donald Minich. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Decatur. Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Sunday at the funeral home. All memorials can be made to the family and the memorials will be used to sponsor a family in need at Christmas.
